This group has been going now for almost two years and we have enjoyed reading a variety of plays, including Shakespeare, Chekhov,Ibsen, Arthur Miller and some 20th century comedies, as well as a couple of plays written by our own members and some poetry. We meet monthly at a member's home and we usually find that we can read through a play (not a Shakespeare!) in one meeting.
We have also been honoured to be invited to do a play reading at Thurston Library at Christmas for the last two years, to help with their fund raising.
The great advantage of reading the play from the script is that you do not have to learn any words! Nor do you need any prior experience, you just need to enjoy reading out loud.
There will be a small charge to cover the cost of hiring manuscripts from the Suffolk Library Service
