Our folk dancing group started in December 2010 and usually has between 16 and 18 people taking part. There is a small charge of £2 each to cover expenses, and includes refreshments half way through.
The dances are mainly 17th and 18th century English country dancing such as Maggie Mixer, Bay Tram Shuffle, Three Hand Star, Belfast Duck, Holmfirth Square and Leaving of Liverpool.
We have a professional caller, Ron Croxall, who travels all over the country and abroad helping people to enjoy and take part in this type of dancing and, if Ron isn't available, Helen from Ipswich helps us out.
We all have a really good time with a lot of laughter and fun - we don't take ourselves too seriously!
We have vacancies so if anyone is interested please just turn up to the next session.
